Stump Cross Caverns at Leeds Christmas Market
Spend the festive season cracking open geodes that are millions of years old and watching customers see the crystals inside for the first time.
Stump Cross Caverns is bringing its geode-cracking stall to Leeds Christmas Market, and we're looking for friendly, energetic people to join the team.
The role

Cracking geodes for customers and sharing a bit of the science behind them

Serving customers and taking card and cash payments

Keeping the stall stocked, tidy and looking its best
The details

Dates: 16 November to 23 December

Location: Leeds Christmas Market, Leeds city centre

Hours: full-time and part-time available, including evenings and weekends

Pay: rate of pay varies depending on age

Training: full paid training at Stump Cross Caverns before you start
What we're looking for

Confident, chatty and happy talking to people of all ages

Reliable and punctual through a busy season

Comfortable handling payments

Happy working outdoors in winter

Retail or customer service experience is welcome but not essential, as we'll teach you everything you need to know

Stump Cross Caverns is a family-owned visitor attraction set on Greenhow Hill in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Discovered in 1860, our underground cave system spans hundreds of millions of years of geological history.
Above ground, we're so much more than a cave. Our café serves everything from light bites to afternoon teas, with views across the Yorkshire Dales. Our crystal shop stocks a carefully curated range of minerals, gems, and fossils. And our ever-growing range of family activities, including geode cracking, gem panning, and interactive workshops, keeps guests of all ages coming back.
We're a small, close-knit team running a genuinely unique visitor attraction in one of Yorkshire's most stunning settings. Whether you're front of house, behind the counter, or greeting guests at the cave entrance, you'll be part of something special.
