Job Description/Duties

Joblink is recruiting on behalf of LUU for a temporary Learning and Development Coordinator.

The role will support Leeds University Union's HR team with L&D projects, assisting in continuously improving LUU's L&D offering

Job Purpose

To coordinate the delivery of learning, development, engagement and inclusion activities across the organisation. To support the effective administration of learning programmes, systems and compliance training, whilst assisting the People & Culture team with day-to-day people operations and employee engagement initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Learning and Development Programmes

To coordinate the delivery of learning and development programmes that support management, leadership and professional development across the organisation.

To support the creation, maintenance and continuous improvement of learning resources, materials and programmes using established frameworks and guidance.

To organise learning events, workshops and training sessions, coordinating logistics, attendance and communications.

To monitor participation and completion rates across learning activities and prepare reports to support evaluation and improvement.

Induction and Onboarding

To coordinate the organisation's induction and onboarding programme, ensuring new starters receive a consistent and positive introduction to the organisation.

To support managers in monitoring induction completion and maintaining accurate onboarding records.

To administer induction materials, schedules and communications.

Learning Systems and Infrastructure

To administer learning management systems and platforms, including user access, content updates, reporting and routine maintenance.

To support system development, implementation and improvement projects as directed by the HR Manager.

To produce regular reports on learning participation, completion and compliance activity.

Compliance and Mandatory Training

To coordinate mandatory training activity across the organisation, including health and safety, wellbeing, first aid and fire safety training.

To maintain training records and monitor completion rates, following up with managers and employees where actions are required.

To support the preparation of compliance reports for relevant committees and stakeholders.

Inclusion, Diversity and Engagement

To support the delivery of inclusion and engagement initiatives and action plans across the organisation.

To provide administrative and operational support to Staff Networks, helping coordinate meetings, communications and activities.

To assist with the delivery of employee wellbeing, engagement and community-building activities.

To support learning and development opportunities for student staff and volunteers.

Learning Requests and Administration

To administer learning and development requests, maintaining records and supporting the approval process.

To track expenditure against agreed budgets and maintain accurate financial records relating to learning and engagement activities.

To process purchases and supplier arrangements in accordance with organisational procedures.

Supporting the People & Culture Team

To support recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities as part of the People & Culture team.

To assist with the administration of people processes, systems and projects as directed by the HR Manager.

To provide administrative support across the People & Culture team during periods of high demand and peak activity.

Working with Others

To work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, staff networks, external providers and stakeholders to support the effective delivery of learning and engagement activities.

To build positive working relationships across the organisation and promote participation in learning and engagement initiatives.

To maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Personal Effectiveness

To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of learning and engagement practices and developments relevant to the role.

To participate in personal development activities and undertake training as required.

Compliance

To comply with LUU policies and procedures and all relevant health and safety requirements.

General

Such other duties as may reasonably be required by the HR Manager and Director of People & Culture, appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.

Qualifications

Essential

  • CIPD Level 3 or working towards CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent qualification/experience)

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 5
  • Qualification in learning, training, coaching or facilitation
