Job Title: Student Communities Assistant

Reporting to: Student Citizenship and Employability Development Coordinator, Community Manager

Place of Work: The Student Centre - University of York Students Union 

Contract: Fixed term 26th October 2026 until 7th May 2027

Hours of Work: Overall 152 annualised hours but will average at around 8 hours per week during term time.

Salary: £13.45 per hour

Here at York University Students Union, we have an exciting job opportunity for someone to join our Communities team as a student Communities Assistant.

About the role: 

York SU is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic student staff member to join the team as Student Communities Assistant. The Student Communities Assistant will support the Communities team with the planning, delivery and organisation of various projects covering areas including: colleges, volunteering, fundraising, employability, building student communities and sustainability.

The role will include, but is not limited to: providing support and guidance to student groups and leaders, processing documentation and general administration, data processing, liaising with student groups, members of staff, university department and local organisations to ensure the delivery of York SU projects and operations.
