Are you a current undergraduate University of Leeds student who is interested in creating social media content about your university experience?
Working in collaboration with the Digital Communications Social Media team, who manage the central University of Leeds social media channels, you will become a part of a Student Content Creator Network helping to create social media content for the University. The Social Media team are expanding their student content creator network, looking for undergraduate students to help them create high-quality, student-led social media content that showcases authentic student experiences on the University’s TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channels.

Main duties and responsibilities
This role is varied and flexible - allowing you to prioritise your studies while earning money for documenting your university experience. The role may involve tasks such as creating Day in the Life TikToks, sharing advice and your own experience on YouTube and presenting vox pop videos. The role will evolve to suit your individual strengths and different content opportunities may arise due to audience interest and channel trends.
Your duties will include contributing content ideas to the team, attending ideation workshops and creating enriching student-led content on social media.
Following social media briefs carefully to create high quality student led social media content.
Attending training and workshops to grow your skillset.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
You must be a current undergraduate University of Leeds student.
Able to create impactful social media content.
Be comfortable speaking in front of the camera and featuring on university social channels.
Feel comfortable to share your university ‘story’.
You will have a passion for social media and enjoy making content for a diverse student audience.
Show an understanding and knowledge of social media trends and video-based content on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.
You will be an enthusiastic individual who is able to confidently work individually to manage your own tasks and work as a part of a team.
Positive “can do” attitude with a creative flair and lots of ideas
Desirable
Previous content creation experience.
Confidence using social media apps and editing apps.

Location: On and off campus
Pay: £12.71 per hour
The role’s hours will often be flexible to fit into your schedule. Occasional weekend or evening work may be requested to attend on-campus events and to capture content for social media.
How you will be paid?
This opportunity will be paid based on what you produce. You will work closely with the social media team to produce planned and proactive social media video content for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
There will be a mix of content creation based on trends as well as meaningful storytelling that shares what it is to be a student at the University of Leeds.
Content tasks will be listed and agreed, delivered, and then you'll get paid through Joblink after this has been completed based on the number of hours it has taken.
You will be paid for all of the work you do, including time spent on filming, editing and also any training and workshops you take part in. Please note that what content gets created and posted will be at the discretion of the central social media team.

2. You must also include a short video (30 seconds to two minutes max) in the email telling us a bit about yourself, the social media experience you have and what you think you could bring to the role of student content creator. You can either upload it to WeTransfer and include a download link in the email or upload the video to OneDrive if it is too large to attach to the email.
3. You must also include a content creation task in your application and attach this to the email.
Please pick one of the following content themes. There are a couple of suggestions for each theme but we’re happy for you to take the theme and run with it if you’ve got another idea. Feel free to use TikTok friendly trends. You must feature in and present the video.
Estimated completion time – we recommend you spend no more than 1-2 hours on the content creation task.
4. We will review your application and, if successful, we will invite you to an online interview on Microsoft Teams towards the end of October.
5. If you are selected, you will have to complete some training sessions and then you will begin your position as a student content creator.
