Joblink is happy to be recruiting a Full-Time Click & Collect Assistant for The University of Leeds Refectory. 

This is an ongoing opportunity with a start date of the W/C 14th September. Job ad will close on the 11th  September but may close early if a suitable candidate has been found.

We are looking for a reliable and committed individual who can be fully trained and ready to work by 15th September. 

The Refectory is the University of Leeds' flagship food and drink venue, serving thousands of students, staff and visitors throughout the academic year. Located at the heart of campus, it offers a fast-paced catering environment with a range of food concepts and services. The Click & Collect operation plays an important role in ensuring customers receive their orders quickly and accurately during busy service periods, making this a vital position within the catering team.

As a Click & Collect Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring customer food orders are accurately prepared and packaged for collection. Working behind the scenes in a busy kitchen environment, you will be responsible for matching customer orders to tickets, packaging food correctly and maintaining high presentation standards before orders are handed over for collection.

This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work independently under pressure. You must be able to follow instructions carefully, remain calm during busy service periods and consistently prepare orders in a timely manner. Please note that there is no cooking involved in this role. Your responsibility will be to package prepared food into the correct boxes and ensure all orders are correctly labelled and presented before they are delivered to customers.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who is dependable, committed and able to maintain a high level of attendance and reliability. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming customer orders from the self-service ordering screens.
  • Prepare and package food items according to order requirements.
  • Attach customer order tickets to the correct food boxes.
  • Ensure all orders are accurately prepared and check for any errors before dispatch.
  • Maintain excellent food presentation standards.
  • Work independently during busy service periods while maintaining accuracy.
  • Keep workstations clean, organised and compliant with food safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with Front of House and kitchen teams.
  • Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures.
  • Support the wider catering team as required.

Requirements and Skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food presentation.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to commit to regular shifts.
  • Previous experience in catering, hospitality or food service is desirable but not essential.

Where, When, Pay? 

Location: University of Leeds Refectory, Leeds
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 10:45am - 6:15pm (term time)
Start date: ASAP with full training to be completed before 15th September
Pay: £12.71 per hour (subject to increase after a 12-week qualifying period)
Hours: Full-Time – 35 hours per week
Duration: Ongoing position for the right candidate
