Job Description/Duties

Joblink are pleased to support the University of Leeds' IT department throughout the Welcome period.

Join the Campus IT Team as a Student IT Ambassador and play an important role in welcoming students and staff at the start of the academic year. You'll provide friendly, face-to-face support, helping users get connected to University IT services and ensuring they have a positive experience from day one.


Working alongside the IT Service Desk team, you'll be one of the first points of contact for common IT queries. You'll help resolve straightforward issues, provide guidance on University systems and services, and direct more complex problems to the appropriate IT support teams.


This is an excellent opportunity to develop your customer service, communication and digital skills while gaining valuable experience working in a professional IT environment.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
•    Welcome and support students and staff with IT queries during enrolment and the start of the academic year.
•    Provide friendly, professional face-to-face customer service across campus.
•    Assist users with setting up and accessing University IT services, including:
o    Wi-Fi connection
o    Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
o    Password resets
o    Microsoft 365 applications
o    University email
o    Printing services
o    Basic software installation and configuration
•    Help users troubleshoot simple issues on laptops, tablets and mobile devices.
•    Signpost or refer more complex technical issues to the IT Service Desk or specialist support teams.
•    Provide guidance on using University IT systems and online services.
•    Record enquiries accurately where required and ensure any follow-up actions are completed.
•    Support IT staff during welcome events, induction activities and other University events.
•    Help maintain a welcoming, organised and professional IT support area.
•    Work collaboratively with fellow Student Ambassadors and IT staff to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Previous experience in customer service or providing IT support would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided.

Location: On campus

Full time - 35 hours per week

Start date:  14th September

End date: Late October
