Job Description/Duties

We are looking for staff to work with the Student Documents Team to support the Registration event taking place across September and October. There will be more positions available during the busiest period, between 14 September and 2 October. 

It is anticipated that the role will be full-time and ask that people can commit to full-time hours. However, due to the variable volumes of work throughout the registration period, the number of hours and days of work cannot be guaranteed and hours may vary at short notice.  

As the time commitments of the role coincide with the start of the University term, this role would not be suitable for someone currently studying at the University. We kindly ask you not to submit an application if this applies to you. 

A summary of the duties is provided below. There are several roles available, and you would be assigned specific duties from the list as required. 

Registration Event Tasks 

  • Producing student cards 

  • Checking the student’s identity against official documents 

  • Checking Visa entry and immigration status 

  • Using multiple applications to check and record student information, including Microsoft SharePoint and Banner (student record system) 

  • Queue management and signposting 

 

Other duties 

  • Give general support and information and refer students to other sources of assistance 

  • Provide general assistance and administrative support to the Student Documents and Visa Team

  • Providing an excellent customer service preferably with experience of working in a customer focused role 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Desire to work in a busy environment
