About the role
Join the UK’s #1 voted clubs and societies team! Leeds University Union supports over 350 student-led clubs, 3,000 student volunteers, and vibrant campus life.
As our Student Groups Systems and Compliance Lead, you’ll lead the systems, administration and compliance function supporting LUU’s award-winning Clubs and Societies programme. Our Student Groups team supports more than 350 student-led clubs and societies and over 3,000 student volunteers. Behind this activity are the systems and processes that enable student leaders to organise events, book spaces, access funding, complete training and deliver safe, well-run activities.
You’ll manage our Student Groups administration team and lead the planning and delivery of key operational services, including room bookings, transport, grants administration, student group records, training records, front desk services and processes managed through our Engage platform. A major focus of the role will be improving how our services work. You’ll review and redesign workflows, develop clear service standards and identify opportunities to introduce automation, self-service guidance and digital tools. You’ll use data, feedback and service insight to reduce unnecessary administration and make processes clearer and easier for students and staff.
You’ll also lead the operational delivery of our student group compliance processes. This includes coordinating annual certification, maintaining accurate records, supporting health and safety processes, overseeing routine audits and ensuring concerns or areas of non-compliance are identified and escalated appropriately.
Working closely with colleagues across LUU, you’ll help ensure that our systems and processes are joined up, accessible and suitable for the scale and variety of student-led activity at Leeds.
