You will be trained in manual handling, hoist use, and the administration of medication where required, ensuring pupils’ safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times. A key aspect of this role is providing consistent, compassionate care while promoting independence and confidence for pupils with complex needs. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure that each pupil receives tailored support. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with personal care tasks, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility Use manual handling and hoist techniques safely following training and procedures Administer medication as required in line with school policy and training Support pupils’ learning and engagement in classroom activities Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and social development Observe, monitor, and report on pupils’ wellbeing and progress Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support personalised care and learning plans Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils Act as a positive role model, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs in an educational or care setting Training in manual handling, hoist use, and administration of medication (or willingness to complete) Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills Patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach Ability to follow procedures and respond to individual pupil needs Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children How to Apply: Email us at: for an informal chat, or apply by visiting
