Primary Teaching Assistants Part time supply cover Location: Beckfoot Allerton Primary, Beckfoot Heaton School, Beckfoot Nessfield, Beckfoot Priesthorpe. Contract: Part-time opportunities available We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join our partnership primary schools in the Beckfoot trust. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, staff, and families to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

A key aspect of being a Primary Teaching Assistant is working closely with pupils to remove barriers to learning through targeted support, reinforcing the teacher’s instruction, and adapting activities to meet individual needs. It also involves promoting positive behaviour, building pupils’ confidence, and supporting their social and emotional development so they can fully engage in learning and reach their potential. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping to reinforce learning and build confidence across the curriculum Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, including preparing resources and adapting activities to meet individual learning needs Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional well-being in line with school policies Assist pupils with additional needs (including SEND) to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities Observe, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher to support assessment and next steps Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued Act as a positive role model, building strong, professional relationships with pupils and supporting their social development Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support personalised learning plans and interventions Support with classroom organisation, displays, and general administrative tasks as required What We’re Looking For Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to complete one Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children How to Apply: Email us at: (url removed) for an informal chat, or you can apply by visiting: (url removed)
