Campus Barista - Part Time

Joblink is recruiting on-campus Baristas to work on Campus catering sites

As a Barista you play a front-of-house house role in supporting the team to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.

Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To succeed in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of brewing equipment. As well as this, you must be able to cater beverages to customers . You should also be able to work various shifts. 

Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

Applicant's will be provided with a high degree of flexibility for what hours they work. Applicants could be required to work weekends. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers as they enter
• Give customers drink and food menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients.
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Prepare beverages following the recipes.
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries, muffins and sandwiches 
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs.
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Previous work experience as a Barista
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences

WHERE, WHEN, PAY?

Location: The role will be based on campus
Shifts: Casual throughout the year  
Start date: ASAP and ongoing

Pay: £12.21 - £13.05/hr

Hours: Part-time

Please note: standard shifts are 8-2 / 10-3
