Full-time | 5 over 7 shift pattern | Evenings & weekends required
Base: Function Floor, University House, University of Leeds

Do you have the ability to motivate a team in a demanding environment, 
ensuring excellent standards of customer service at all times? Do you have experience working at a management level within a restaurant, hotel, or other hospitality setting and are looking for a new challenge? 

⭐ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the leadership of the Function Floor team to deliver a consistently first-class service
  • Ensuring functions are set up and delivered in line with customer requirements and departmental standards
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients during events, creating a welcoming and professional experience
  • Liaising with clients regarding audio-visual equipment and facilities (training provided)
  • Supervising staff and working closely with Chefs, Delivered Services and Reservations teams
  • Managing staffing levels effectively to meet service demands and financial targets
  • Assisting with financial control, including staffing costs, food costs and KPIs
  • Using the booking system to plan upcoming business, staffing and equipment requirements
  • Managing food and non-food stock, including ordering, rotation and monthly stock counts
  • Monitoring deliveries and supplier standards, reporting issues where necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety policies at all times
  • Leading the training and development of new and existing team members
  • Providing management cover across other catering areas when required

⭐ What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Experience in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment at supervisory or management level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage teams in a busy environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail, particularly with stock control and record keeping
  • A genuine interest in food and drink
  • A flexible approach to meet the needs of the business

Desirable:

  • CIEH Intermediate Food Hygiene
  • NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Catering or Hospitality
  • Experience in a conferencing or events environment
  • Personal Licence
  • Full driving licence
