This is a rewarding role where you will help students access education in a safe, calm, and nurturing environment, promoting dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to support students' development and personal care. As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
Assist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility (training provided). Support sensory-based learning and communication using tools like Makaton, PECS, or other systems. Work with teachers and other professionals to implement Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
Foster a calm, supportive environment to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing. What Were Looking For: Experience supporting students with PMLD, complex needs, SEND, or in care/health settings (desirable). A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to individualised support.
Willingness to assist with personal care and medical routines. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the dignity of vulnerable learners.
To be eligible for this role, you must: Hold Right to Work in the UK. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (or be willing to apply). Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
