We’re looking for a motivational, hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead our bar and catering operations across three vibrant sites: Sports Park Weetwood, Bodington Football Hub, and the Brownlee Centre. From match‑day meals for university teams to national league hockey events, cricket teas, corporate days and daily bar service, no two days look the same.

⭐ What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of delivering a high‑quality, efficient and welcoming food and drink service that enhances the experience of every visitor, athlete and partner. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, training and motivating a diverse bar and catering team to deliver excellent service.
  • Managing rotas, staffing levels and agency chef cover to ensure smooth operations.
  • Overseeing food preparation, presentation, labelling and service, ensuring displays are full, attractive and compliant with food safety standards.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients during service, ensuring their needs are met professionally.
  • Conducting pre‑opening checks and ensuring all operations meet brand and safety standards.
  • Managing stock ordering, deliveries, wastage recording and financial procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and bar licensing requirements.
  • Handling customer feedback and complaints with professionalism and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the Outdoor Operations Manager with income targets, budgeting and identifying new commercial opportunities.
  • Opening and closing facilities as required and working flexibly across all Outdoor Sport sites.

⭐ What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and leads by example. You’ll need:

  • Experience in a hospitality or catering setting at supervisory level.
  • CIEH Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
  • A valid Personal Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices.
  • Proven ability to motivate a team, stay calm under pressure and delegate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence handling stock, cash and financial processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Hospitality (or equivalent).
  • An interest in sport and physical activity.
