Switchboard Operator Assistant

Location: Parkinson Court

Job Type: Part-time and flexible

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES

Joblink are thrilled to be working with the University of Leeds Conference and Events Department. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work as Switchboard Assistants, providing excellent customer service and support to students staff and visitors to campus. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to all internal/external calls and redirect appropriately.
  • Ensure switchboard is staffed at all times, liaise with team to cover for breaks, holidays and absences
  • Advise Conference & Events Manager, Operation of corrections and amendments required for Siemens Switchboard
  • Maintain records of connect calls

Required skills

  • Siemens switchboard operating skills
  • Effective communication
  • Flexibility to cover work loads – breaks/holidays/rotation
  • PC navigation, use of University Website
  • Email
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Calm under pressure
  • Team work
  • Proactive approach

Desirable Knowledge

  • Courses and Services offered by The University
  • Dates of events, functions and open days
  • Key personnel employed by The University
  • Locations of buildings/sites/departments
  • General knowledge of Leeds/local area i.e. Motorway networks, major bus routes, local attraction

  • Full or part time depending on requirements 
  • Pay: £13.05 per hour
