Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an entry level Finance Assistant located at our head office in Knaresborough. The Finance Assistant will receive an excellent grounding in all aspects of finance, being a key member of a small finance team. They will be responsible for tasks including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, timely and accurate updates to the Sage accounting system, and making accurate agreement payments to dealerships. The role will also involve analysing financial data, supporting compliance with financial regulations, and effectively collaborating with team members and colleagues, in particular the sales and financial operations teams. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of finance processes and relish working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment, and enjoy supporting the delivery of process improvement and automation. Study support towards an accounting qualification is available.

Qualifications and skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a numerate discipline (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field), or demonstrable evidence of strong numerical and analytical skills gained through professional experience or relevant certifications.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Sage and Excel is advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively engage and collaborate with team team members and colleagues
  • Solid understanding of financial compliance standards and best practices
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable
  • A “Can do” attitude with a positive mindset to driving change
