Joblink are recruiting for a team of Student Ambassadors for Welcome and term one.

Student ambassadors play an integral part in creating a welcoming student environment across campus. We want this year to be no different, and to make coming to Leeds a great experience.

Do you remember your first day arriving at University? What would have made your experience even better? With this role, you have the opportunity to provide an amazing first impression to new and returning students.

What do you need to be a campus ambassador?
No experience is necessary, but you must:

  • Love to help others 
  • Be passionate about the student life in Leeds
  • Be familiar with campus 
  • Be proactive, enthusiastic and reliable

What will I be doing?
We have various student ambassador roles ranging from a few days to most of the academic year. As a student ambassador you could:

  1. Be an Intake Helper based at a student accommodation- providing a welcome to students checking in for the very first time.
  2. Be a Leeds University Union ambassador- marshalling, setting up events, ticketing, signposting etc.
  3. Be an IT Helpdesk ambassador- helping students get set up with Minerva, campus wifi, two-factor authentication and other queries.
  4. Be a Welcome Team or Student Information Service Ambassador

We have shifts from the beginning of September. Joblink gives you the freedom to pick which shifts you want to work!

*Please note some roles will require specific training or to attend an assessment centre

Working as a Student Ambassador helps you develop the following skills:

  • Communication - by talking to a range of people, from school students to parents
  • Teamwork - by coordinating your work with other Ambassadors and University staff
  • Social and cultural awareness - by meeting and working with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Problem solving - by using your initiative - you may face unexpected challenges, which require you to change your approach. These incidents may also require resilience, persistence, tact, creativity and innovation.

Pay: £12.71 + holiday pay
